QualMed Inc., a subsidary of Health Systems International, is
looking for an experienced Technical Writer. This position is
available in our corporate headquarters located in Pueblo, Colorado.
Health Systems International is one of the largest for-profit,
publically traded managed health care companies in the nation. HSI
owns and manages HMOs, PPOs, and indemnity insurance in the
western United States.
QualMed's hallmark is extensive managed care in the HMO
marketplace. Although the National Health Care Reform being
proposed by President Clinton has brought this sort of system to the
nationUs attention in the last year, QualMed has been practicing
medical cost savings through physician-directed utilization
management since it was founded in 1985. QualMed was listed on
the Inc. Magazine and Fortune Magazine lists of fastest growing
companies for the last several years, and was recently ranked
number 1 by the Rocky Mountain News in their annual listing of
Colorado-based companies.
The responsibilities of this position include user and technical
documention of in-house computer systems which support the
managed health care business. Experience with FrameMaker 4.0 is
required. The ideal candiate for this position would have several
years experience documenting software systems for end-users and
for technical staff. While managed health care experience is not
required, it is preferred. Other desirable qualities include the ability
to work in a fast-paced environment, the understanding of the
software development lifecycle, and Information Mapping.
The position reports to the Technical Writing Manager in the
Corporate MIS department. The salary range is $28,000 to $34,000
depending upon education and experience. Competive benefits
