TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I also get Technique Magazine (P.O. Box 5443, Pittsfield, MA 01203 --
for those interested in subscribing) and, if I remember correctly, it's
published by (or affiliated with) Paper Direct and the subscription rate
was very reasonable ($14.95 or something like that ... but I can't seem
to find their rate mentioned in the magazine). It has an enormous
number of ads ... but it also has some pretty good articles on giving
presentations, customizing clip art, using color effectively, etc.
