America Online has positions available for Technical Writers with a BA/BS
and 3-5 years experience researching, writing and maintaining technical
documentation. Proven ability to work independently, show initiative,
extract information from technical staff, and learn new technologies is
required. Also required are knowledge of programming concepts and
experience with MS Word for Windows. Systems analysis or programming
experience is a plus. The positions are as follows:
Macintosh Development Writer - Write Macintosh programming reference
manuals. Knowledge of Macintosh platform technology and experience with
ResEdit, C or other language are a plus.
Windows Development Writer - Write Windows programming reference manuals.
Knowledge of Windows platform technology and experience with Visual Basic,
C, and DOS are a plus.
Host Development Writer - Write Host programming reference manuals.
Knowledge of Stratus VOS and/or UNIX is a plus.
Online Service Writer - Write documentation describing gateway connections
to the online service. Experience with Windows and Macintosh
applications, UNIX and online services is a plus.
