Technical communication is a fast-growing field of professional
writers, editors, and artists who decipher product and operations data
from such technical fields as aerospace, computers, medicine, and
electronics. This information is then carefully designed into
documentation, like manuals, computer online programs, reports,
marketing materials, and multimedia productions. The aim of technical
communication is to maximize comprehension and ease-of-use of technical
operations and products.
The STC's mission is to serve technical communicators and technical
communication educators, researchers, managers, and students. STC is
the worldUs largest non-profit professional society representing this
constituency.
