"Advertorial" also refers to those stories on the "Local Business" page of
your newspaper, the stories about local stores and what-not. The stories are
NOT paid advertising, but you can be sure that the business in question has a
nice display ad on the page or elsewhere in the paper. The ads Vicki
mentions usually come from the advertiser; these non-ad stories are written
by someone on the newspaper/magazine/publication staff. Hence the ad.
