Hi Caryn,
A "marking period" is the same as a "grading period"; you divide the school year
up into marking periods of 9 weeks each, or 6 weeks, or whatever, and the
student receives grades, or "marks" at the end of each period.
Did you go to some sorta damn hippie school where they didn't have grades, or
what?
