Presentation: An Informal Guide to Achieving Better Usability in
Windows Help

ROBIN KINKEAD of CyberOptics will lead a discussion of usability
issues for online help and documentation in Windows. Robin is
currently the Usability Guru and Manager of Technical Publications at
CyberOptics. He has over 30 years of experience in interface design
and usability at companies such as Microsoft, Xerox Corp., NCR,
American Institutes for Research, and Continuum (a Bill Gates
company). Robin wishes to provide the following disclaimer: While he
does not promise to make you a usability specialist in one evening,
he may provide you with some insights into making your help files
more usable.

If you have not already done so, please fill out a member information
form so we can add you to the TCWHIG mailing list. Forms are
available at the meeting and from Ben Weisner at 612-660-2420.

Note: There will be no TCWHIG newsletter this month. Please forward
this post to other interested persons.

COMING IN DECEMBER: Joint meeting with the Twin Cities Chapter of the
Society for Technical Communication, Tuesday, December 13. The format
will be small group discussions ("Progressions" in STC lingo) that
will focus on online help development.
