Fellow techwr-l readers:

I'm in a Rhetorical Theory course at the University of Minnesota
and am confronted with the task of defining technical communication,
or, better yet, prescribing the rules of a good technical communicator.

We've been discussing Plato and Aristotle's contributions to
rhetoric (pathos, ethos, logos) as well as quite a few other
areas, and now focusing in on scientific and technical communication.

So, if we were to compile a set of rules which all good
technical communicators were to comply with, what would they be?
What are our goals as technical communicators? I'm interested in
hearing what types of definitions you may have.

Thanks.
