Region 8 STC 1994 Technical Art Competition

This competition, sponsored by the Santa Barbara chapter of the Society for
Technical Communication (STC), honors those who use visual art to communicate
technical information with excellence.
Deadline: December 31, 1994
Entry Fee: $50 for STC members, $60 for non-members.

Eligible Entries
----------------
Entries published after February 1, 1993 are eligible. Entrants need not be
members of STC and need not reside in Region 8. Winning entries will be
displayed, so entries must not contain classified information. Entries will not
be returned.
Judging and Awards
------------------
Entries will be judged by experienced and respected technical artists.
Awards -- Best of Show, and, in each category, Distinguished, Excellence,
Merit, and Achievement -- will be based upon how effectively the design
helps to communicate technical content. Judges' comments will also be sent
to all entrants.
Awards will be presented and winning entries displayed on Thursday,
February 23, 1995 in Santa Barbara, CA. Details about this event will be sent
to all entrants.
Entries that receive Distinguished or Excellence awards in this competition
will be submitted to the STC's International Technical Art Competition. The
Santa Barbara chapter will pay the entry fee for the international competition
for one entrant. If more than one person created the entry, you may pay to add
names of additional entrants.
International winners will be announced before the 42nd STC Annual Conference
in Washington, D.C. in April 1995. The Annual Conference will display winning
entries, honor their creators, and celebrate excellence in technical
communication.
