TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I follow some newsgroups that are very effectively moderated and I have no
problem with it at all. However, it does demand a lot of *someone's* time to
look at every message coming in, and I'm sure we all have real jobs and a life
as well.
I've set the listserver to simply send me a daily digest and that makes the
issue a lot less pressing. One mail message instead of a steady stream, and I
can skip over the adminstrative stuff (how to unsubscribe and that mess of
listserver search commands from a few weeks back) or the messages that are not
relevant.
