Unless you need to use screen shots of a Windows or OS/2 product
in your docs. Then, having to port the graphics over to the MAC
is a real liability. I never found a good way to do it (and I'm
glad I don't have that problem here!).
Try Photoshop. It works for me. It's got the ability to read in BMP, PCX, and a
half-dozen other PC formats (including Targa video captures). It also does a
great job of adding text to screen shots, and can be set for any color depth
from 1 (who needs that?) to 256 colors, as well as direct colors (up to 16.7
million in that realm).
The more I work with Photoshop the more amazed I am at it.
