I always start a new chapter on an odd-numbered page (boy, I
successfully side-stepped the right/left issue, didn't I!).
And the fact that I leave a page blank in the process has never
worried me. I think it's more important to meet the user's
expectation of where the chapter begins than to save what
would amount to a couple of sheets of paper. (We're tree-
killers by profession, after all. Be responsible -- grow more
trees or use recycled paper.)
But I've never put the "This page intentionally left blank"
disclaimer on. I figure that once you did that, it wasn't
(blank anymore!).
Last time a programmer asked why I didn't read his mind...
I told him I tried, all I got was "this page intentionally
left blank"! ;^)
