Subject:Nomination for Hall of Fame From:Rose Wilcox <RWILC -at- FAST -dot- DOT -dot- STATE -dot- AZ -dot- US> Date:Mon, 17 Apr 1995 11:37:00 PDT
Hey, while watching cartoons this Sat. (now you all *know*...)
I noticed that Bill Nye the Science Guy is the head writer
of his show. I would like to nominate him for the Techwr-l
hall of fame....
'Nother point about the hall of fame, though, would be what
criteria to use for nominations... If the hall of fame were feasible,
would we base entries on quality of work or on innovations and
advances in the profession.... And what about teams? I was
thinking that the folks who first wrote MS Help and came up
with some of the standards we based our standards on might
be nominated, but they probably came up with their standards
as a team. I know my team creates standards together -- not
one of us would stand for any of the others foisting off his or her
standards on the group as a whole. No standardization without
representation!!!

'Well,' said Owl, 'the customary procedure in such cases is as follows.'
'What does Crustimoney Proseedcake mean?' said Pooh.
'For I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words Bother me.'
'It means the Thing to Do.'
'As long as it means that, I don't mind,' said Pooh humbly.
