Dave Demyan responds:
I was shocked to see a term in a post that, in my childhood, was a common taunt
between the sexes. I was also embarrassed that my name was in the previous
paragraph in the post. I go on record as saying the Vince Putnam's views and
mine
differ greatly.
I feel the comment is sexually harrassing because it seems to me to have been
intended to belittle the recipient in an inappropriately and sexually familiar
way.
We got away with such things as kids because 1) we were kids, and 2) it wasn't
as
big an issue then (1950's - 60's). But adults speaking publicly should not be
able
to get away with it today.
I agree with Karen; Vince was way out of line.
