Interleaf is looking for a contract technical writer in its Waltham, MA
facility to create and update documentation for the Interleaf Developer's
Toolkit (DTK). The job entails two major tasks:
1. Update the DTK Reference Manual to cover the GUI versions of Interleaf
- Identify functions that are not currently covered in the DTK Reference
- Determine whether docstrings exist for these functions, create (if
necessary) those strings, and insert the missing docstrings with
appropriate formatting at the appropriate place in the reference manual
- Identify those functions in the Motif/NT lisp interface whose
functionality or arguments have changed as well as classes of objects
whose properties have changed and update manual to reflect those
changes
2. Update and complete the DTK Programmer's Guide
- Move the tools chapter from the Reference Manual to the Programmer's
Guide
- Update the menu customization chapter to reflect the proposed changes
in the DTK's menu customization interface
- Add chapters on dialog box creation/customization, help, tables,
graphics, and keyboard programming
- Add a chapter on migrating from an earlier version of the DTK
The position is currently open and the contract will run through late
August. You should have some experience writing programmer's documentation
or with Lisp. Experience with Interleaf Lisp a definite plus.
