David Price asks about MS Project.....
I've been using it for a few months and found it quite useful. I'm
involved in the revision of several college programs that will be
phased in over 3 years. The Gantt charts (horizontal bar charts)
are really useful for keeping track of the sequence of events as
well as what is supposed to happen concurrently. This sort of problem
might be what you are facing with the scheduling of mutiple writing
projects. It can also do lots of neat things with billing and
scheduling of individuals.
I believe it can be linked to Excel spreadsheets which might simplify
calculations and display of information although I haven't tried it
yet.
I called the MS technical help line several times and they were
able to answer my questions.
There was a review recently (PC Magazine??) which gave MS Project
a good rating, but it was not considered the best package.
I hope that is of some use.
