Someone recently asked how long it took to do a page. I've retrieved my notes
from a tech writing scheduling course in which the instructor provided the
following guidelines:
writing new text 3-5 hours/page
revising existing text 1-3 hours/page
editing 6-8 pages/hour
indexing (all tasks) 5 pages/hour (10 items/page)
figures 8-10 hours/page
production 5% of all other activities
project management 15% of all other activities
