Are your readers impressionable, sheep-like morons, liable to change
their world-view according to your use of pronouns? Then use the
PC approach and live with its ugliness.
Are your users big enough to think for themselves? Then do what
pleases you. Your users can withstand the diversity of ideas and
expression of a free society. At least in pronouns.
I do things the old-fashioned way, myself.
