Text Search Shareware for Word & WordPerfect

I thought members of this list would be interested in our shareware
text search program. Basically, CommTech PowerSearch helps people
handle large amounts of text.

Versions are available for Word for Windows and WordPerfect for Windows.

After you have tried PowerSearch, I would be very interested to hear
what you think about it.

CommTech PowerSearch(tm) Version 3.0 is now available for WordPerfect for
Windows as well as Word for Windows. This shareware program now gives users
of both word processing programs powerful, easy-to-use search capabilities.

CommTech PowerSearch for WordPerfect for Windows allows you to easily
build, save, and reuse complex search queries for use with WordPerfect's
QuickFinder utility.  Since it works inside WordPerfect for Windows, it is
easier and quicker to use than other search programs. CommTech PowerSearch
gives you simplified access to WordPerfect's powerful search capabilities
through an intuitive, self-teaching and efficient design.

CommTech PowerSearch for Word for Windows, the original version of this
program, breaks new ground by giving Word users the ability to perform
complex searches which were previously impossible.  For the first time,
Word users can search for multiple keywords simultaneously, save searches
for later use, and take advantage of other advanced search features.

If you use Word or WordPerfect, CommTech PowerSearch(tm) is an essential
tool for organizing the vast amounts of unstructured information that you
now need to deal with, whether this information comes from databases, E-mail,
CD-ROMs, or other sources and whether you are searching for combinations of
words, numbers or both.

One of the most difficult tasks in performing searches is including
synonyms. For instance, to search for "fruit," you need to include related
keywords, such as "apple," "orange" and "pear." CommTech PowerSearch(tm)
uses a thesaurus to suggest related words, saving time and effort and
reducing the risk of missing information. Similarly, the program suggests
antonyms to be excluded.  This powerful feature lets you eliminate unwanted
data that other search programs force you to look through.

When you specify a word to search for, the program can substitute this word
plus its synonyms. This collection of words with similar meanings is called
a Web(tm). CommTech Webs can be included in searches incorporating "AND,"
"OR," "NOT" in the same way as single words. CommTech PowerSearch also
allows you to specify how close the search terms must be to one another
(for example, within 5 words.)

CommTech Webs(tm) can be saved, reused and edited quickly and easily. Webs
can be linked together using the Boolean operators "AND," "OR," "NOT" to
create detailed searches involving combinations of Webs and individual
words. Like Webs, these searches can also be saved, reused and edited.

CommTech PowerSearch(tm) Gives You:

*Standard search options!
The WordPerfect Version lets you choose from case sensitive or case
insensitive searches.  The Word Version allows case-sensitivity/
insensitivity, whole-word-only, forward/backward searching, recognition
of fonts, italics, bold, styles, etc.

*Searching for multiple keywords at the same time!
Until now, if you wanted to search a document or database for a series
of keywords or phrases, each and every search had to be entered manually.
CommTech PowerSearch(tm) lets you define the keywords for any search and
gives you data that would have taken much more time and effort in the past.

*Get only the information you need!
In addition to specifying what information you want, you can also give
CommTech PowerSearch(tm) words that you don't want. Find what you need
and eliminate what you don't want.

*Combination searches!
Forget memorizing the rigid conventions of traditional databases with
confusing query languages. Not only does CommTech PowerSearch(tm) allow
you to perform multiple keyword searches using an easy Windows interface,
you can also easily narrow or broaden the search. Link several Webs(tm)
together. Find all or part of a Web, and automatically filter out extraneous
data. Whatever you need. CommTech PowerSearch(tm) gives powerful search
tools and unearths data that word processors simply cannot find.

Once you've entered a complex search, you'll never have to retype it again.
CommTech PowerSearch(tm) can remember any search you launch, so the same
keywords can easily be used to find different data. Or if you need to
conduct a slightly different search, just load and edit an old search, and
