I've never heard of the dashed box being called a Marquee... I've usually
seen it referred to as a "bounding box" or "zoom box" if the area is to
be sized. One program I used referred to it as a "rubber band" to stretch
around the chosen objects.
However, should you choose to call it a Marquee, just define the term
at the beginning of the document and go with it! Everyone else makes up
terminology, so pick the word that suits you unless you are defining
a standard for the company. Then pick the word that suits the boss! :)
Define it, one way or another.
