The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Similar to the tie your shoe, paper airplane experiences, I once took
a communication class where two people stood on opposite sides of the
room. One person was blindfolded. Between them stood about 50 mouse
and rat traps ready to spring. You had to listen *carefully* to your
partner and follow his/her instructions *precisely* to make it across
the room without setting off any traps. Very few people made it across
without setting off the traps. Amazingly, with shoes on, it does not
hurt at all to step in a mouse or rat trap!!!
