Cisco Systems invites technical writers, technical editors, and course
developers to attend our Knowledge Products open house this Thursday.
We're looking for the following people:
Technical Writers
Positions require 3-10 years of experience developing networking, data
communications, telecommunications, or computer systems software/hardware
manuals for end users.
Desktop publishing experience is required (FrameMaker preferred), as is
experience in the successful completion of several major writing projects.
Some positions require experience with online documentation development and
knowledge of RoboHELP, HyperHelp, or similar tools. CD-ROM and usability
test experience are preferred, as is a project lead or planning background.
A BA/BS in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or Engineering is
required.
Technical Editors
Positions require 3-8 years of technical editing experience in a high
technology company; a BA in Technical Writing, English, Journalism or the
equivalent; and desktop publishing skills (FrameMaker preferred).
Experience taking several major projects from conception to completion is
essential.
Course Developers
Positions require a minimum of 2 years of developing technical training
material for a high technology company and a BSEE/CE or a 4-year
instructional design degree is required. Must have excellent
communication, organizational, and project management skills. Knowledge of
network communication protocols and technologies is a strong plus, as is a
working knowledge of Macintosh computer systems, FrameMaker, and
instructional design techniques.
