Before you go, there are a few things that you should know:
1 - Not all of us believe that there is such a thing as a stupid question.
As a matter of fact, you'll find that there are those of us on the list who
are willing to answer most of your questions, if you at least attempt to
follow normal everyday neticate and the mores of this list. If you have a
question that is off-topic for the list, why not post a message like: "Sorry
folks, I know this is off-topic but I have a question about XXXXX. Can
someone get back too me and help me out?" and put "Off-Topic Question" in
your subject line. You'll probably still get a few complaints and bad
reactions, but at least you'll have been polite about your question (and
most people will respond favorably in most cases).
2 - To leave this list because you feel slighted by the reaction of people
who may not share you're viewpoint is cutting your nose off in spite of your
face. You're going to meet people like that everywhere, in all walks of
life. If you don't learn to deal with it and continue with your petulance,
you're the only one who will suffer for it. There are a lot of really good
people on this list who know what they are doing as technical writers. You
will be cutting yourself off from a valuable professional resource.
3 - If you are still of a mind to leave this list, that's too bad - I'm
sorry to see you go. Just remember that if you decide you want to return to
us in the future, we will in all probability still be here.
Best of Luck
Paul C.
