I agree with your very well reasoned response to the Findlay situation.
Although I did not respond to any of the students, I was very irritated that
there were a number of the students that were asking broad research
questions like tell me what you know about.... These type of questions are
either going to be ignored or flamed. As they should be because that is an
inappropriate use of this list in my opinion. This is a business resource
for the subscribers to this list and any student that subscribes should
understand this and respect the limited amount of time that most of us have.
I have always found that most people are more than willing to help. IMO,
the lack of respect for the subscribers time and that this list is a
business resource, is what created the flaming responses.
