Since I started the API one, here's my definition: Application Program
Interfaces. (or Programmer, Programming)
But if you try to get beyond that to a definition of what one is, I find
a lot of variety. It seems to depend on the context of what is being
interfaced with what.

Subject: What is API?
Could someone tell me what API stands for? I've seen that acronym in a
couple of posts lately. And while you are at it, what is SME? (or was
it EMS??) I've also seen that acronym thrown around in this list.
