Consulting Position, on-site, 3-6 months.
NYC brokerage firm needs a senior technical writer
with varied writing experience to design, re-write,
write, and manage the publication of:
Software User Guides
- Order/entry software for sales assistants
- Software that shows new offerings to sales
people
- Client coverage software
Technology newsletter for upper management.
Describes technology developed in the
group you would be workingin to upper
management. Writer needs to be able to
understand the technology and write about
it in a marketing-oriented style. Writer
will come up with ideas for design and
presentation of the material.
System specifications for in-house software
development tool.
The client needs a self-motivated writer who can
quickly grasp the requirements of the project and
produce what's needed with a minimum of input.
The client had a bad experience with a contract
writer who needed a lot of support, and does not
want to repeat it.
Experience writing financial documentation is a plus.
You should be proficient in FrameMaker. You should be
able to design the documents required and create the
template in FrameMaker. Word for Windows is a possible
(but not favored) alternative.
If you can do some of the work described, but not all of

that the job could be broken up.
This job could turn into a long-term consulting or staff
