Just received _The Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications_.
(Microsoft Press, $24.95, ISBN 1-55615-939-0, for those interested).
Not that its word is law outside the company's, er, gates;
but it says--
grow

Do not use as a transitive verb in the sense of making something
larger; use a more specific verb such as _extend_ instead.
Correct:
If you want to increase your business...
To extend the selection...
Incorrect:
If you want to grow your business...
To grow the selection...
