Suzanne, on HotDog and other demo editing tools--
I don't know if it is because they are demo versions or not, but I also
have some strange "failures." I like HotDog a lot, probably best right
now, but it won't convert my ascii (was Word) file. My help file does
work though.
Your question on tables--(I haven't used it in HotDog, but have in
WebEdit, and basically construct a lot of the code by hand.) In general,
don't use too many columns. Small monitors will not have much space for
the code. Also, tables don't do text wrap so if your table doesn't fit
in the viewer window (the user may also reduce the window size) they
fill flop out of view on the right.
Another point--A long table takes longer to load and, if printed, the
printer won't break a table in the middle unless it has to. Try breaking
your long table into several smaller ones.
