For whoever is wondering, the "fair use" doctrine for copyright
is gauged by four factors: each of which carry about the same
weight in a determination of "fair use." Briefly, these are:

   1) purpose and character of use
   2) nature of work
   3) amount and substantiality of work used
   4) effect of use on market or value of work

Further, "fair use" is determined on a case-by-case basis. If you
are interested in protecting the copyright of posted works or using
the posted works of others within "fair use," I would encourage you
to consult legal counsel.

Other considerations may also apply in the protection or use of
posted works, some of which may fall within the scope of a list
policy on the use of postings.
