makes a case for always trying to put in a UTC time when sending out some
thing that's going to cross time zones...say: be there at 10 PM (0200 UTC).
(for the US, 7 PM EST=0000 UTC, next day, and 8 PM EDT= 0000 UTC next day.)
you find things of international stature using UTC as the normal way of doing
business - for example in radio communications. one example comes to mind is
the field day announcement from the american radio relay league. field day
starts at 1800 UTC on the 4th saturday in june. (see http://www.arrl.org )
