As Dogbert would say (and Eric might agree with the sentiment, if not the
phrasing), here's a clue:
If you *don't* want to discuss something on this list, *don't* respond to a
short mention of it on the list by posting a longer note saying "Let's not
talk about this and here's all the reasons we shouldn't ..."
If you do, you're kind of like the folks who write "I hope this awful thread
dies" -- just before posting several paragraphs on it, whatever *it* is
(pronouns, Frame v. Word, Mac v. Windows etc.).
