Hi everyone,
I thought you might be interested in receiving information on the
first-ever Technical Communication Institute (TCI) that is scheduled to
take place in Winnipeg this June.
We have an outstanding program, presenters, and facilities -- and an
excellent price. The TCI promises to become one of North America's
premiere training events for technical communicators. Help us get it
launched in style. Plan on being in Winnipeg in June.
***What Is the TCI?***
The TCI is a four-day intensive interactive learning environment in
which specialists present state-of-the-art communication technology to
technical communication practitioners.
The emphasis will be on hands-on learning, and the material will be
geared for experienced technical communicators.
***What are the Topics?***
The program includes the following topics (with the workshop leaders
shown alongside):
Information Design - Dr. C.J. Bibus
Online Documentation - Ben Weisner
Project Management - Dr. JoAnn Hackos
Planning Multimedia - Ann Rockley
Publishing on the Internet - Dr. Eric Ray
Creating ISO 9000 Documentation - Dr. Edmond Weiss
***When and Where Does TCI Take Place****
TCI runs from June 5 to June 8, and takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The workshops will be held at the new downtown facilities of Red River
Community College and the University of Manitoba. Out-of-town
participants will be offered a special rate of $59 (Canadian) at the
prestigious Hotel Fort Garry, near the historic forks of the Red and
Assiniboine rivers.
Aside from 4 days of interactive learning, the program includes a
reception, banquet, and an optional outing to the North American
premiere of the new version of Tommy (rumour has it that Pete Townsend
will be on hand).
***What Does it Cost?***
The fee for the four-day institute is approximately $725 Canadian or
$530 US (including taxes).
