Subject:Automotive writing -Reply (perhaps, too long). From:David Hailey <FAHAILEY -at- WPO -dot- HASS -dot- USU -dot- EDU> Date:Wed, 15 May 1996 09:45:58 -0600
Hi Mary,
Yours is an excellent question. I would also like to know what industries
are represented here.
My writing experience is out of heavy manufacturing. I wrote magazine
articles for such as Highway and Heavy Construction (alas, now gone to
its final rest) and worked as assistant editor, managing editor, and
innovations editor for some fifteen years for similar publications. It was
really fun work and is not a bad place for your friend to look, given his
experience. Contact me privately if he is interested ; I have more than a
thousand addresses.
Now, I research multimedia. Presently, I am on a two year contract with
US West researching CBT technology.
Obviously, as you can tell from my address, I also teach. Our program
teaches major publications management, graphic design (yup, it's a
writing program), multimedia, graphic design for multimedia, help file
development (with RoboHELP); I do the graphics instruction and the
multimedia stuff. I couldn't resist putting this in for Michael. ;>)
I hope this helps.
I apologize in advance if the rest of you would rather I had answered
privately, but I do hope the rest of you also answer publicly.
