Thank you to everyone that responded with their suggestions on cost
justification for larger monitors. As many of the replies pointed out--a
larger monitor requires a writer spend less time scrolling through windows
and flipping between applications.
One replied suggested a side by side comparison of 13" vs. 19" or 21"
monitors while running multiple applications. Apparently, the "boss" was
easily persuaded after "experiencing" the difference in monitor size.
The July 1996 issue of Consumer Reports has some information on monitors
for anyone else interested in the topic.
