Just a quick **thank you!** for your insights regarding our outmoded
practice of page numbering. I hoped I had made reasonably intelligent
suggestions to my supervisors, and discovered that most of you made the
same suggestions I did initially. A couple of you offered variations on
themes that I hadn't considered, and a few really good laughs as well!
Yesterday, during a casual conversation with my supervisor, he remarked
that several of our very large competitors do not handle documentation
the same way we do, i.e., they don't attempt to control every document
that comes through their docs department. When I asked him why we do it
the way we do, he said, "Because we've always done it that way."
