<Some of you have gone to a lot of trouble to malign STC for no apparent reason.
<You have been told that STC does not now, has never, and may never offer
<certification. Those of you who feel that STC would grandfather members or
<give preferential treatment to members have a lot to learn.
<First, it would probably not be possible to do so.
<Second, employers would figure it out (except for those who wouldn't care in
<the first place) very quickly and discount certification.
<Some of you may have an ax to grind concerning STC, but give me a break! Use
<what passes for your brain. STC is not a trade union. It is
organization of people who claim to be professionals. Some actually are.
Others are wannabes. Still others are like the 2000 or so who lurk
on this list and never have anything worthwhile to contribute.
Dan,
I concurred with your post until I got to the part where you malign
the "...2000 or so who lurk on this list and never have anything
worthwhile to contribute..."
I'm sure there are plenty of individuals who monitor this group and
have worthwhile opinions on any number of related subjects, but hey,
who wants to read 2000 ways to "convert Word to Frame to HTML," etc.
According to you, since everyone in the STC is either...
A) Claiming to be a professional (Good!)
B) Wannabe (An admirable quality!)
C) One of 2000 with nothing worthwhile to contribute (hmmm....)
Which group, if I may be so bold to ask, are you in? (;-)))
(...just for certification purposes, you understand.)
