I can see that this test would have some value even if you didn't read
what the applicant wrote. If they asked the right questions about the
'project', I'd count that as a plus. OTOH, if they suggested doing the
pencil manual as online help, I'd be less impressed.
If anyone does have a pencil manual, can I have a copy? My wife (primary
school teacher) told me they now test children to find the ones who hold
a pencil as I do. It indicates some terrible defect. I don't know what
they do with the ones they catch -- send them off to re-education camps
perhaps.
