Mentor Graphics Corporation, a leader in Electronic Design Automation
(EDA) systems and Integrated System Design, is currently looking for a
Technical Writer/Course Developer for their New Jersey office.
Location: Warren, NJ
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of three years experience writing end-user manuals, help
files, and/or course materials for high-tech software products
with minimal source material and specs from Engineering/Marketing
(EDA experience preferred)
+ Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication, Instructional Design,
Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with a concentration
in Human Factors
+ Excellent interviewing, researching, and writing skills
+ Proficiency in use of document publishing tools (FrameMaker and
Adobe Acrobat Preferred)
+ Familiarity with WinHelp design guidelines & development tools
+ Familiarity with Unix workstations, basic Unix operating system
commands, and C or C++
+ Knowledge of IC Design and physical layout methodologies helpful
+ Ability to write to standards and style guidelines with minimal
supervision
+ Ability to concurrently work on multiple projects in a deadline-driven
environment
Responsibilities:
+ Research, write, update, and release user/reference manuals, online help,
and course materials by using the product and interviewing engineers
in development, customer support, and the field
+ Coordinate technical reviews, and test documentation for clarity,
accuracy, and usability
+ Participate in product team meetings and support product team by
reviewing and updating project-related documentation, such as
specifications and requirements.
+ Convert and redesign online documentation for a new help system
