What's more, that study by Miller is ancient in research terms -- 1956. If
anybody cares to check on it, its:
Miller, G.A. (1956). The magical number seven, plus or minus two: Some
limits on our capacity for processing information. _Psychological Review,

I suspect Miller's article has been used much in the manner of the 1940
something one that concluded it didn't do any good to teach grammar in
school.
