Title: Administrative Associate VI

Starting Pay Range: $2782.00 to $3538.00 per month
Duties: As an Information & Document Technology Specialist reporting to the
TechPubs Dept., work as part of a 4-person team responsible for
developing/implementing solutions to a variety of publishing & information
management challenges. Duties include: function as project lead on variety
of publishing projects (often involving large and geographically diverse
authorship); develop/exploit database resources; prepare training materials
& workshops for diverse community of authors support staff; maintain &
develop awareness of current & emerging Internet & software technologies as
they relate to the publishing process; develop in-house resources for same.
Skills: Minimum of several years' experience in document preparation,
information mgmt or publishing required. Demonstrated project leadership
experience. Proven expertise in cross-platform document production & mgmt
issues including conversion of documents across formats & platforms.
Extensive experience with electronic & conventional publishing media,
including authoring,
conversion, & tracking software. Expertise working with and/or designing
document databases. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects
under tight deadlines with limited resources. Superior oral & written
communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex
& dynamic team environment. In-depth knowledge of HTML & WWW technologies
essential, familiarity with SGML a plus. Experience developing accurate
project estimates in terms of time & labor involved. Database familiarity
desirable (FileMaker Pro, Oracle). Candidates with programming expertise
(CGI/shell scripts, C, perl, AppleScript) will be given special
consideration.
