Subject:Re: Word Masterdoc problems: 6/7? From:Iain Harrison <iharrison -at- SCT -dot- CO -dot- UK> Date:Wed, 23 Oct 1996 17:17:03 GMT
Diane Williams asks:
Does this problem exist mostly with just Word 6.0
for Windows under 3.11? Or does Word 7 under Win 95
have this problem too?
I've tried 16 bit Word 6 on 3.1 and 3.11 and it is awful. I made
a big master/sub doc that just wouldn't work.
I've tried 16 bit Word 6 on Win95 with the big master/sub and it
failed.
I've tried Word 6 for Windows NT on Windows 95 and it was pretty
good. It loaded the big master/sub, but ran very very slowly,
which it generally does when near the edge of failing.
I tried Word 6 for Windows NT on Windows NT and with the big
master/sub it ran so slowly that I gave up (it wasn't my
machine, so I couldn't play all day).
I've tried Word 7 on Win95 and it works much faster, but still
failed on the big master/sub.
