I read somewhere that readers are often turned off by very long lists
of steps, especially if the task seems as though it shouldn't be that
complicated.
Beginners may appreciate baby-steps-and-lots-of-them, though.
Obviously there's a balance, and where to place your fulcrum depends
on your readers.
