Subject:Changing defaut value in help menus From:Joel Borchers <joebor -at- SYMIX -dot- COM> Date:Tue, 4 Mar 1997 15:51:07 -0500
Hello,
Does anyone know if you can change the default selections on standard
help menus in Windows 3.1x help? Here's a long-winded explanation of why
I want to do this:
I'm working on an HCP-compiled help file for both Win3.1x and Win95
users, and I'm using the RoboHelp Compatibility Wizard to include a
Win95 .CNT file. My problem is that when you select a topic from the
index, the topic displays BEHIND any other open application windows.
RoboHelp support tells me that this is a WinHelp bug with displaying
main windows. We'd rather not have to force all of our topics to display
in secondary windows to solve the problem.
However, I've noticed that when you compile the help file with the main
window defined as "Always On Top," and then select "Not On Top" in the
compiled help file's Options menu, the bug doesn't occur. So I thought
if we could change the default Keep Help On Top setting in the help
Options menu, we could solve the problem without having to force the
help to display always on top. Anyone have any suggestions, or know of
other ways to get around this WinHelp bug? Thank you in advance.
