My $.02 worth... I am writing a user guide, and my reviewer is the
project leader 70 miles away. We email versions back and forth, and we
both work in MS Word. He simply clicks on the "revision" mode (either
tools menu,revisions... or double click on the "MRK" box at the bottom
of the doc) choose revision options; toggle on or off; and viola, I can
see his edits, and I change according to his and my judgments.. It
works for us.
