** I'm with Peggy. If you think you can afford to be humorous
about the undesirability of being a technical writer because
you can assume everyone knows that technical writers in fact
deserve respect, you may be mistaken. In a lot of places, the
average programmer assumes that the reason you're a technical
writer is that you're not good enough to be a programmer. You
shouldn't run yourself down by emphasizing what a thankless
position you've had to settle for.
