Subject:Much Ado about Slamming From:"Tony G. Rocco" <trocco -at- NAVIS -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 27 Mar 1997 15:40:23 -0800
I suggest that anyone concerned with so-called "slamming" on this email
list watch C-SPAN some night when they broadcast the raucous goings on in
the British Parliament. Tories vs. Labor - hooting, hollering, booing, and
catterwalling, even as people speak. Spirited and passionate debate rages,
complete with name-calling, accusations, pointed questions, hostile
remarks, and snappy rejoinders. Nobody shies away from debate for fear of a
harsh reaction or rousing chorus of derisive boos and hisses. It's all part
of the fun!
With this in mind, how in the world can anyone get worked up over a few
slightly impolite or even abrasive comments on a mailing list? Beats the
devil out of me.
