There have been some concerns expressed re Office 97.
FWIW, Lucent Technologies is discouraging all of its people
from migrating to Office 97 until 4Q97 when Office 97.5 is
to be released. According to Lucent's people who evaluated 97,
there are a number of problems, not the least of which is
Word 97's ''unique'' format (my emphasis). Lucent also has
problems with the Exchange replacement and the Scheduler
replacement. Lucent apparently is not alone in delaying
implementation of Redmond's latest.
Lucent has not put a total ban on 97 -- developers can get
it -- but for now there is zero support for the suite.
