Not sure if you'll find this humorous, but I chuckled...

Subject: managers who apply red ink

Although this is a different context, in a school I once worked in every
single one of my student reports was returned with red ink. Even where
there was nothing wrong, I was told to make my signature more legible!

As at that time I had been teaching for about 15 years, with only one or
two reports ever returned, I was quite affronted at this. However, like
Mulla Nasrudin I decided to bide my time.

At the next reporting date, I did all the reports as usual. Then, as I
was handing them over to this person (my line manager) for checking, I
said:

"Christine, I've completed all these reports, but to save you a little
bit of time would it be helpful if, instead of handing them over to you
now, I threw them away and rewrote them immediately?"

She looked most annoyed, and to my surprise she took the reports and
returned none.
