TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
A trademark is a trademark no matter who owns it. I would treat the
trademarks of others in the same way I treated my own. In my experience, it
is best to acknowledge the mark with the usual tm or circled r on first
mention (as a minimum). I have never worked for a company that required a
page listing trademarks appearing in a document, but I never produced the kind
of document in which jillions of trademarks appeared.
I have been on both sides of the street with trademarks and know that some
companies (including one I worked for) can make the Great White look like
Goldilocks when it comes to protecting their trademarks.
