A company called U S FREEWAY ONLINE INC of Charlotte NC,
since acquired by BOSnet Communications, offered ''free''
Internet access for a US$25.00 setup fee.
The company never delivered, but it IS making charges of $40
plus additional $5 charges against user accounts.
If you signed up for this service and either failed to get
the service or are having unauthorized charges levied
against your account, please let me know so that we might
consider a class action against the companies involved.
BOSnet is a Time Warner ''partner'' and that might prove
helpful.
(How did I think the ISP would be paid? It claimed through
advertising revenue, much as several URL providers [e.g.
Geocities, Tripod] are funded.)
By the way, my ex-bank claims that even after I cancel my
plastic the unautghorized charges can STILL be made against
the account and the bank will continue to dun me! FWIW, the
ex-bank is Suntrust Bankcard NA of Orlando FL.
